8th Grade Eligibility

Did you know that 8th grade students at any of the eight catholic middle schools, St. Gregory’s, St. Matthew’s, Star of the Sea, St. John’s, St. Patrick’s, Christ the King, St. Pius X and Portsmouth Catholic Regional School, are eligible to play JV sports at Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School if they register to attend the following year and place a $ 1,000.00 deposit that goes towards the following years tuition.

Many students in the middle schools continue their catholic education at Bishop Sullivan CHS. This program was instituted many years ago to afford student athletes the opportunity to participate in athletics at a high school level during their 8th grade year.  Most of the private schools have grades 1 thru 12 and offer JV sports to the 7th and 8th grade students. Public schools allow tryouts for JV sports from the local intermediate school.  This program allows future Bishop Sullivan CHS students the chance to stay competitive as they advance towards high school.

How do I sign up ?         How does it work ?

1. Submit an application for admission for your son/daughter for the following school year along with the $ 125.00 processing fee.
2. Guidance determines eligibility for admission.
3. Upon acceptance, $ 1,000.00 deposit is required and becomes a credit for the student’s freshman tuition.
4. A current physical is required before tryouts.  
5. Team tryouts begin.
