As we near the end of another school year, our 20th year on Princess Anne Road, I want to thank all the parents, grandparents, guardians, host parents and friends who have helped make these twenty years, and particularly this year, a success. We at Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School have enjoyed helping your sons and daughters achieve success in the classroom and grow in faith and character.
We have two noteworthy announcements: Monsignor William L. Pitt, Principal from 1992-2005, has graciously agreed to be our graduation speaker in this, our anniversary year. We look forward to having him with us at graduation. Also, Tom Kilpatrick, our longtime Athletic Director, is retiring after 18 years of dedicated service to Bishop Sullivan CHS. His leadership will be missed.
This year’s prom was a great success. The setting at the Norfolk Botanical Garden was regal, and our students looked wonderful. Congratulations to the King and Queen – Joe Medel and Mary Hamel. Thank you to Mrs. Linda McCubbins and the Prom Committee for their efforts on behalf of our school community.
We have two very important sets of exams coming up. The Advanced Placement Exams are scheduled from May 6 to May 17. Our end-of-semester exams will be held from May 24 until May 31. Our students have worked diligently during the year. Please encourage them to continue to work hard through the end of the school year.
As we head into the celebratory events leading to and including graduation, please make sure the events the students attend are appropriate and properly chaperoned.
To our seniors, we wish you great things in the coming years. We know you are prepared for the next phase of your life. We take pride in your accomplishments and look forward to your visits here next fall. To our rising seniors, juniors, and sophomores, don’t forget your summer reading—August will be here before you know it!
I hope everyone has a wonderful summer filled with fun, family, and relaxation.
May God bless us all and keep us safe.
