No Pops, all Crackle
with the 2008 Bubble Blast

The second annual Bubble Blast Field Hockey Tournament was held March 1st and March 2nd, 2008 in the Dome at Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School.  Twenty-two teams participated in a total of 47 games over the two-day tournament.  Quite a few teams were new to the tournament this year.  The participants were from local private and public schools, as well as three teams from York County and three select teams.  As with last year's tournament, the 2008 Bubble Blast provided competition in the U14, U16 and U19 divisions.  Among the attendees of the Bubble Blast was a college coach on a scouting visit to the U19 division games which were played on Saturday afternoon.

The Crusader Club opened the outdoor concession stand for the tournament weekend and made a profit of $275.00.  They plan on providing concessions and mouth guards during the tournament next year.

The success of the Bubble Blast tournaments are solely dependent upon parent and student volunteers, who have done an outstanding job.

The 2008 Bubble Blast netted $850.00 more than last year's tournament.  Through registration fees and t-shirt sales, the 2007 and 2008 Bubble Blast tournaments have made a total net profit of $11,650.00 for the Crusader Athletic Association to help fund the Turf Field, Dome and Locker Rooms.

Once again all the participants, volunteers and fans had a BLAST and are looking forward to Bubble Blast 2009!
