Championship Regatta...
The Independent
Schools Championship Crew Regatta was held Saturday, May 9th. Schools
competing included Bishop Sullivan CHS, Norfolk Academy, Cape Henry,
Norfolk Collegiate, Broadwater, St. Margaret, Trinity Episcopal and
North Mooreland.
CHS entered ten events and two crews finished first, six
finished third and two finished fourth.
It was especially gratifying for our Men's Varsity four: Ethan
Strauser, Josh Wayler, Ryan Walsh, Matt Wood (with Sully
Locket as cox) and for our Men's 2nd four:
Kyle Crocker, Jack Hall, Chris Free, Dustin Thomas (with Mairin
O'Brien as cox) to finish their season as champions.

Contest Results...
Three students from Bishop Sullivan
CHS ranked in the top ten in the Virginia chapter of the National
French Contest: Bernadette Aylward in Level 2, and Lashadai Charles
and Mirielle McMillin in Level 3.

Reed Looney and Ryan Burke each
had two goals as the No. 3 seed Crusaders jumped out to a 4-0
lead Wednesday afternoon and held on to advance to the Tidewater
Conference tournament final for the first time in school history.
Matt Smith scored to put Bishop
Sullivan up 5-2 and Jared Griffith had
15 saves for the victors, who also recorded their first ever
win over second-seeded Cape Henry.
The Crusaders face top-seeded Norfolk Academy at 4:30 p.m. Friday
at Norfolk Academy in the championship game.

League-leading scorer Caroline Banks had two goals to fuel
the third-seeded Crusaders, who travel to play at second-seeded Walsingham
in Friday’s 4:30 p.m. TCIS semifinals.

Mary Flowers had nine goals and four assists to power the top-seeded
Dolphins over the fourth-seeded Crusaders in a Tidewater Conference
semifinal. Kelsey Scherrer added six goals in a rematch of
last season’s
tournament final.
Flowers, Scherrer and Brittany Bertolino combined for a four-goal
spurt to snap a 13-13 tie early in the second half to put the victors
ahead for good.
Caitlin Murphy paced the Crusaders with
seven goals and Lauren Wohner chipped in five more. The duo were
the top-two league leaders in scoring.

competed in the Spirit Unlimited cheer and dance Williamsburg Colonial
Spirit Championship on March 30th, 2008. They received 2nd place
in their division!
• Varsity Cheering Squad
wins competition...
Bishop Sullivan CHS' varsity cheerleaders
participated in The National Cheerleading competition in Myrtle Beach
on April 5th and won first place in their division. Please congratulate
them!
