Scholarships - What's New & Available to You
Federal employees and their family members can now apply for a scholarship from the Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund (FEEA).
Now through March 14, current civilian federal and postal employees with at least three years of service can apply for scholarship awards ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Spouses and children of federal employees may also apply.
Since 1986, FEEA has given over 11,000 merit-based scholarships to federal employees, their spouses, children, and grandchildren.
NTEU is a founding member of FEEA and is proud to support this charity dedicated solely to serving federal workers and their families.

Scholarship Rules
- Candidates for this award shall be direct descendants of veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces during eligibility dates for membership in The American Legion: April 6, 1917, to November 11, 1918; and any time after December 7, 1941. Membership in The American Legion Family is not required for this scholarship.
- Applicants must be in their senior year of high school.
- This is a scholarship to attend an accredited institution of higher education.
- Applicants must complete 50 hours of volunteer service within the community during their high school years. Hours must be verified in writing by the recipient organization(s).
- Completed applications are DUE ON OR BEFORE MARCH 1, 11:59 PM Eastern.
- Judging, at all levels, shall be on the following basis:
- 30% - Character/Leadership
- 30% - Essay/Application
- 40% - Academic Achievement

The Society of the Cincinnati in the State of Virginia announces an essay contest for any Virginia high school or homeschooled senior who will attend any four-year college or university in the Commonwealth of Virginia beginning in the fall of 2024. The Society will award scholarship of $4000 to $6000 to the authors of up to four essays that are judged to be the most outstanding. The number and amount of all scholarships awarded will determined be the contest judges based on the overall quality of all entries.

- Submit a 500 word essay that answers the following questions:
- What was the most recent text you sent while driving?
- Who did you send it to?
- Every time you send a text while driving, there’s a chance that’s the last message you send to that person. If you’d been in an accident due to sending that text, would you be comfortable knowing that those were the last words you said to that person?
- Use the remainder of your essay to compose the message you would’ve sent if you’d known it would be your last.
- Eligibility is restricted to graduating high school seniors OR students enrolled in a college, trade school, or university in the United States for the fall 2023 semester.
- Essays must be submitted, along with a copy of your transcript or proof of enrollment, no later than 12:00pm EST on December 15, 2023.
- A winner will be selected and notified by January 20, 2024.

Application Requirements:
- The candidate must submit a 750-1,000 word essay response to the prompt: Describe a time when you spoke up against injustice you witnessed and what resulted from speaking up.
- The candidate must submit a professional resumé that lists their experience, both professional and academic.
- The candidate must submit a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school, as well as the most recent official transcript from their prior school. High school students must also submit proof of acceptance to their college or university.
The recipient of the 2023 See Something Say Something Scholarship will be chosen during the month following the scholarship deadline.

The $2,000 Sallie Mae Scholarship Sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes") begins at 12:00:01 AM Eastern Time ("ET") Sunday, January 01, 2023 and ends at 11:59:59 PM ET on Sunday, December 31, 2023 (the "Sweepstakes Period"). Sponsor's computer is the official clock for this Sweepstakes. The $2,000 Sallie Mae Scholarship Sweepstakes is only open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia and any US Territory age 17 or older at the time of entry, and who meet one (1) of the four (4) following eligibility requirements at the time of entry:
- a parent who currently has a child enrolled in an accredited college or university located within the United States;
- a student who is currently enrolled in an accredited college or university located within the United States;

Each scholarship has specific criteria that is defined by the sponsor when the scholarship is established. Please read the scholarship description in the Scholarship Opportunities to see if you qualify. Criteria that apply to all scholarships are listed below.
ALL scholarship applicants must:
- be a high school senior or college freshman, sophomore or junior.
- be less than 23 years of age at time of submitting the application.
- be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- plan to attend post-secondary school in the U.S.
- be a full-time student who is actively attending classes.

Each interested student is invited to write a one-page essay stating why he or she plans a career in government service including any inspiration to be derived from the leadership of George Washington in his famous crossing of the Delaware. This essay must be accompanied by a recommendation from the high school principal or guidance counselor evaluating the student’s achievements, along with transcripts, national testing scores, and other supporting information of the applicant’s choice as described in the Official Rules.

- MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: 6 years in commands under the administrative control of Commander Naval Surface Forces, US Atlantic Fleet (COMNAVSURFLANT) and/or Commander Naval Surface Forces, US Pacific Fleet (COMNAVSURFOR). The time requirement is cumulative and assignments need not be consecutive. Sponsors (URL 1110) may utilize active duty service on CVNs toward the 6 year requirement.

The Lands’ End School Starboard Scholarship Program was established to assist middle and high school students, currently in grades 8-12, who are enrolled at a Lands’ End Preferred School in the U.S.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation's largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.

Students applying for admission to Virginia Tech who wish to apply for scholarships first need to complete the admissions application. After submitting your admissions application, you will should receive an email from the Office of Admissions with instructions on creating your admissions portal login credentials. After logging into your admissions portal, you may login to the system by clicking on the Scholarship Central link.

Eligibility for the scholarship is quite simple. An applicants must (a) be citizens of the United States, (b) diagnosed with autism, (c) who would like to further their education beyond the secondary school (high school) level. We do not require that an applicant be enrolled in any educational institution or program when the application is submitted. We also reserve the right to ask you for verification of your ASD diagnosis.

Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be graduating high school seniors planning on attending an accredited college or university in the United States of America. Additionally, students must have met all of the requirements described on this website (http://honorsgradu.com/). Employees of Honors Graduation and their families are not eligible to participate. Submissions must be received before the deadlines in order to qualify for the scholarship program. Mailed applications must be postmarked by that deadline. There are no citizenship requirements.
Privacy:
By submitting your work, you agree that we may display the project on our websites, including, but not limited to photos, links, videos, etc. This will likely only be done for winning candidates, and will only include the applicant’s name, school, and the project itself. No other personal contact information we collect will be used without explicit permission obtained beforehand via email.
Choosing a Winner:
Submissions will be evaluated by our judges only after all submissions have been received by the various deadlines. After carefully reviewing the available information on our site, applicants may also email the scholarship committee, (scholarship{at}honorsgraduation{dot}com), with further questions.
When choosing a winner we will be looking at:
- The quality & quantity of work already completed
- The potential for future long-term impact.
- General community relevance of the project.
Finalists may also be asked for proposals on how they would use the $5,000 grant if selected as the top recipient. As a tip for future applicants: the more specific those plans, the better (especially if they involve plans to seek additional funding or perpetuate the fund toward your project in the long term). Being a finalist does not mean you have won the scholarship, we are simply seeking more information in order to choose the top winners.
