Rooted in Faith

Although we always look to the future, Catholic High School is rich in tradition and proud of our past. Our history comes alive throughout our campus. From the cross in our courtyard to graduation class portraits lining every hallway to our peaceful prayer garden, these cherished elements embody our rich heritage.

 CHS History

School Counseling Office

Our counselors emphasize individualized collaboration, creating relationships with students and their families from the last year of middle school through high school graduation and college matriculation.

Classroom

Our rigorous, faith-based curriculum cultivates academic excellence, and small class sizes foster strong teacher-student relationships. Our dedicated faculty mentors students both intellectually and spiritually, preparing them for success in college and beyond.

Academics

Shepherd Library and Media Center

The Shepherd Library and Media Center offers students access to print and digital resources with over 10,000 library holdings of fiction and non-fiction, online subscriptions, databases, and websites.  Students have access to printers and can collaborate on projects, challenge themselves with a puzzle or game, or participate in fun, educational after-school programs. The Library is also home to our Technology Center.

Galen STEM Lab

Catholic High School has added two new classrooms and a science laboratory. These additional learning spaces will accommodate the school’s increasing enrollment while upholding its hallmark small class sizes, which remain a top priority. This approach ensures that each student receives personalized attention, fostering academic growth and meaningful relationships with faculty.

The state-of-the-art Galen STEM Lab was made possible through the generous support of Mr. Evan Galen ‘69, who is committed to the mission of Catholic education. The new space will enhance hands-on learning opportunities in biology, chemistry, and environmental science, allowing students to engage more deeply in scientific inquiry and innovation.

Curriculum

Dining Hall

In many high schools, students aren't eager to discover what's for lunch. At Catholic High School, however, lunch is a daily culinary adventure. Our cafeteria partners with SAGE Dining Services, where expert chefs create fresh, nutritious meals made from scratch daily.

SAGE team members receive extensive training in food service protocols and food allergy awareness. The comprehensive online allergen filter allows students and parents to easily review menus, identify safe options, and choose meals with confidence.

Theology Studies

CHS engages students' heads, hearts, and hands on their journey toward our Lord as devoted disciples. Our annual class retreats provide introspective and unifying experiences tailored to each grade level. Combined with our theology classes and En Christe program, these experiences ensure meaningful faith formation while encouraging the practice of social justice.

Fraim Family Chapel

Our faith is the heart of our community.

Our centrally located chapel is open before, during, and after school for praise and worship, silent prayer, the rosary, and monthly adoration. Each Wednesday, our community gathers to celebrate Mass together.

Spiritual Life

Mary and Frank Price Gymnasium

The Mary and Frank Price Gymnasium is a versatile space hosting everything from volleyball and basketball games to Mass celebrations, awards ceremonies, pep rallies, and community service events like our American Red Cross Blood Drive. More than just an athletic venue, it's a center of faith, fellowship, and celebration that unites Crusaders throughout the year.

Athletics

Athletics Complex

Athletics play a vital role in Crusader life, with more than 75% of our students participating in at least one sport at the JV or Varsity level and many in two or more. Sports teach invaluable life skills, including teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, focus, and time management. These qualities enhance classroom performance while creating lasting bonds through shared goals and achievements.

Athletics

TowneBank Athletic Pavilion

Our new TowneBank Athletic Pavilion is a 2,300 square-foot athletic pavilion with almost 3,000 square feet in outdoor plaza and patio space. The building is a single level structure conveniently accessible from all the athletic fields which contains restrooms, a girls’ locker room, a concessions area and a multi-purpose room for events, team meetings, film sessions, and classroom space. Thanks to so many of our generous supporters, we are able to offer new spaces like this to continue to support the needs of our ever growing student body!

Theater

The CHS Theatre Company produces multiple productions throughout the year, showcasing a rich variety of styles. From comedies and tragedies to musicals and classics, from full-length productions to one-act plays, each season offers diverse theatrical experiences. All technical aspects of production are student-run with adult supervision and training, giving students hands-on experience in lighting, sound, stage management, and makeup.

Hunter Hogan Gallery

Band and chorus classes are held in our beautiful Barry Robinson Theater and Fine Arts Center, which features commissioned stained glass windows representing the cornerstones of Fine Arts: theater, art, and music.

The Fine Art Department at CHS includes active programs in Visual and Performing Arts. Our exemplary art classes incorporate diverse media, including glasswork, ceramics, studio art, photography, 3-D art, graphic design, photojournalism, and more.

Student Activities

Students can choose from a variety of extracurricular clubs at the annual club fair, where they can meet club members and gather general information about recreational and competitive clubs that interest them, including the Blue Crab Bowl Team, Medical Club, Literary Magazine, and Robotics Club.

Crusaders can pursue membership in various National Honor Societies and student government positions. Students can be invited to join the National Honor Society as well as subject-specific honor societies in World Languages, Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, English, Music, and Art.
