Military Families

Our military student advisors are here to help.

The military community is heavily represented at Catholic High School.  A large part of our student body hails from military families. We are especially fortunate that over half of our faculty and staff are associated with the armed forces as veterans, reserve personnel, retired military or military spouses.  Their unique perspective and vast experiences open the world to our students.

Our military families add diversity, flexibility and warmth to our community. We regularly welcome new families throughout the year and strive to help these students assimilate to their new home. In an effort to make transitions easier for our military families, a special group of student volunteers, our Military Student Advisors, are available to help answer questions, walk through schedules and introduce students to life as a Crusader.

We are grateful for all our military families do for us and the sacrifices they make to keep us safe and free.  We would be honored if you would consider us your choice for excellence in education. You will find a home at Catholic High School!

Military Family Resources

Catholic High School is honored to be selected to receive the 2020 Purple Star Designation. The Virginia Purple Star Designation is awarded to military-friendly schools that have demonstrated a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation’s military.

Meet our Military Student Advisor Team 2020-21

Hello, my name is Clara and I am a sophomore here. I understand how being in the military and moving around can be difficult, especially when it comes to transferring to a new school. At Catholic High, it is an easy transition due to our welcoming community and we are very happy that you are here! I look forward to meeting you!

Hi! My name is Jessica. My dad is retired Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal after 30 years. My mom is in the Army Reserves and she works at Joint Forces Command Operations. I have a lot of experience with the military and I can't wait to meet you!

Hi, my name is Kyle. My father is in the Navy, and over the last 17 years I’ve had to live in 7 different places around the country. I know how difficult it can be to be the new kid, and I’m excited to help you in any way I can!

Hi, my name is Maggie, I moved around a couple times, so I know what a new school is like! I’m glad you joined us at Catholic High School, the more the merrier! Can’t wait to meet you!

Hi, my name Zachary, my dad is a retired EOD Navy diver after 30 years and my mom is still in the army reserves working at Joint Forces Operation Command at Norfolk. I have also moved a few times so I know what being a military kid is about. We would be glad to welcome you into the CRU community!
