The Catholic High Chorus, (a for-credit course) is composed of 30-40 students. This Fine Arts class meets Monday - Friday at 7:15 a.m. In addition to the Winter and Spring concerts with the Catholic High Band/Orchestra Ensemble, the Chorus leads music at the Baccalaureate Service in June. They are also one of the leaders of the school’s weekly celebration of the Mass.
In addition to rehearsing for concerts and Mass, students participate in music selection, composition, improvising, arranging, sight-singing practice, and preparation of solos of a variety of music both sacred and secular; Western and Non-Western; art music and popular, accompanied and acapella from periods ranging from ancient to modern.
Each November, each member of the chorus auditions for the District II Chorus. Each year approximately one half of our chorus members are selected for this honor.
