Peer Ministry

CHS's Peer Leadership Program is the backbone of Campus Ministry. Students are invited to apply in the second semester of their Sophomore and Junior years. Those selected for this ministry attend a Leadership Retreat in the summer, and are vital participants in the spiritual life of the school. Peer Ministers serve in a variety of areas:

  • Liturgical Ministers: Assist in the celebration of Holy Mass and other Liturgical celebrations as Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Servers, and Sacristans.
  • Prayer Ministry: Lead prayer, Bible Study, and Praise and Worship in the Chapel on weekday mornings, as well as coordinate the Chapel Schedule and prepare and lead morning and afternoon prayer.
  • Outreach Ministry: Design, coordinate, and carry out various outreach ministries through the school, such as Lenten donation drives and "CRU for a Cause." These ministers also design, coordinate, and carry out the various En Christe programs offered by CHS, and help to pair younger and transfer students with service organizations that match their gifts and schedule.
  • Retreat Ministry: Design, coordinate, and carry out the various retreats offered at CHS. Meet several times a year on weekends, participate in ongoing faith formation, and also serve in one of the other above ministries.
