Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

Give Through Your IRA: Qualified Charitable Distributions
Support the Crusader Mission — with Tax-Smart Giving. If you’re 70½ or older and have a traditional IRA, you can make a powerful impact at Catholic High School through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). This allows you to give directly from your IRA—tax-free—while fulfilling your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). Contact Advancement Director Lisa Hamlet at 757-467-2679 or hamletl@chsvb.org.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) About Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)
Catholic High School is a qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Gifts made through Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) must be transferred directly from an IRA custodian to Catholic High School to qualify for tax benefits. Donors should consult their own tax advisors or financial planners regarding the tax implications of QCD gifts.
